Number of Homeless Children Rises to New High

More than 1.5 million public school students experienced homelessness in the 2020-21 school year.

10 percent of all children experiencing homelessness who spent time in shelters were under the age of 1; 35 percent ages 1 to 5; 34 percent ages 6 to 12; and 22 percent ages 13 to 18.

OUR CAUSE

The number of homeless families and kids has grown dramatically as the amount of affordable housing has shrunk in many cities. The number of homeless kids in public schools has increased by about 70 percent over the past decade. We have committed to donating books to children who face this problem.

Activity Books for Homeless Children

For each Children's Activity Book purchased, exploreSkillz will donate a book to children who are experiencing homelessness. Books will be distributed by community partners/organizations that support and provide resources for homeless families.
